NEW YORK CITY — A North Carolina-style whole hog barbecue joint in Williamsburg, an authentic Mexican restaurant in Forest Hills, and a turn-of-the-century-style beer hall on the Upper West Side are some of the newest additions to the city’s food scene.

DNAinfo has rounded up four new restaurants and bars for you to try this weekend:

Arrogant Swine at 173 Morgan Ave. in East Williamsburg

Grab some craft beer and juicy pieces of pork, slowly cooked outside for 15 to 18 hours, at this new, expansive barbecue joint in Brooklyn. The 3,000-square-foot beer garden serves up 20 beers on tap, as well as 20 bottled beers, along with the North Carolina-style barbecue.

El Coyote at 70-09 Austin St. in Forest Hills

You’ll find traditional Mexican fare, as well as some quirkier options including “banana chicken”  — a dish of boneless chicken breast sautéed with bananas and raisins — at this Forest Hills eatery, the latest outpost of a mini-chain that has other locations in Jackson Heights and Connecticut. Also on the menu, its signature drink: a "Lime Boat" margarita that's made with fresh squeezed limes, Sauza Gold Tequila, Grand Marnier, Cointreau and topped with a "lime boat" — a lime rind filled with tequila that floats on top.

Bernheim & Schwartz at 2911 Broadway in Morningside Heights

This cavernous new beer hall, located just outside Columbia University’s gates, is lined with hundreds of turn-of-the-century pub antiques, like German beer steins and old New York mementos, giving the 250-seat bar an old-timey appeal. Also appealing: an extensive list of brews and menu of upscale pub-fare.

The Lighthouse underneath The Archway of Manhattan Bridge, DUMBO

The restaurateurs behind DUMBO's Superfine have opened a food stand under the Manhattan Bridge for those after a casual beer, wine or snack. The Lighthouse is located at the Archway of the bridge and will only open from Wednesday through Sunday from midday to 10 p.m. The Lighthouse is a seasonal venture and will be open through the fall, but will close during the winter before reopening in March next year. On offer are Pacifico Lager, Finger Lakes wine and Sea Salt Ale from the Fire Island Brewing Co. The small bites menu is yet to be determined.
