NEW YORK CITY — The MTA wants you to know your grandma is watching.

"Offer your seat to an elderly, disabled or pregnant person. Not only is it the right thing to do, but you'll make your grandmother proud," reads a new ad set to be installed inside city buses this week.

The ad is part of a new series to be rolled out in all of the city's 4,600 local buses, an MTA spokesman said.

The bus ads are different from the ones used for the recent subway courtesy campaign, but both projects have the same goal — remind riders of the correct commute etiquette, the MTA said.

Other bus ad slogans include "Keep your feet off the seat and off the armrests too, please. Let's be courteous and sanitary" and "keep the sound down, keep the music, games and the phone conversation to yourself please. Let’s keep personal devices personal".

Next in line are Metro-North and LIRR, MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz said, adding that the railroad placards would be different from the bus and subway ones. They're set to be installed in the next two months, Ortiz said.
