LOWER MANHATTAN — A group of preservationists are banging the drum — and carrying a coffin — to bring attention to the loss of several TriBeCa buildings.

The Tribeca Trust is planning to hold a "Jazz Funeral March" Friday, to "mourn" eight buildings that will soon meet their fate with a wrecking ball, organizers said.

A jazz band will play as preservationists, and whoever wants to join, parade down Murray Street, from Greenwich Street to Church Street, then around to Warren Street —stopping at each building slated to be torn down for a luxury condo.

The group, which encourages participants to bring umbrellas, as is traditional in jazz funeral marches, will end in front of 63 Warren St., one of the properties slated for demolition. That's where they'll "eulogize" the buildings — and even give out candy.

A row of buildings on West Broadway, which includes beloved dive bar Raccoon Lodge, is slated to be torn down, along with a block of buildings along Church Street. Both are being turned into luxury residential high rises.

The demolition has forced several longtime small businesses to shutter.

Paraders can meet at Murray and Greenwich streets at 5 p.m. The whole march and eulogy should be over by 6:30 p.m., organizers said.
