MIDTOWN — A Bronx man was arrested Friday and charged with assault in the Bryant Park subway slashing, sources said.

Michael McKenzie, 44, admitted to getting into a fight with a stranger on a D train in Midtown, but denied slashing the victim across the face with a box cutter, sources said.

The two started fighting after Mckenzie asked the 38-year-old victim what he was looking at, according to sources.

They exchanged words and started to push and shove each other. The suspect then slashed the 38-year-old across his face and chest, sources said.

The victim was treated at Bellevue Hospital.

The suspect was picked up Friday morning and charged with assault, police said.
