THE BRONX — Call him the Man of Steal.

A burglar sporting Superman's iconic insignia tattooed across his chest who has a history of robbing women he knows used his ex-girlfriend's keys to break into her Mott Haven apartment and steal electronics and her wallet containing $600, police said.

Deshawn Owens, 23, ran into his ex-girlfriend, 25, and the two walked together for a bit until she asked him to hold onto her keys while she went to pick up her kid at daycare, police said.

She then tried to call him to get her keys back, but he didn't answer. She returned to her home near Third Avenue and East 143rd Street about 5 p.m. to find that Owens stole her belongings, police said.

The wallet he took contained her debit card, ID and hundreds of dollars in cash, police said. Officials did not have information about the electronics he took.

Owens was last seen wearing red sneakers, a white shirt and black sweat pants, police said.

Owens, who was first arrested for robbery when he was 17, has several other robbery arrests on his record, many of which are sealed, police said.

Most recently, he robbed a woman at knifepoint in her Bronx home March 10, holding a blade to her throat before repeatedly punching her in the face about 11:30 p.m., police said.

He stole her Samsung Galaxy phone during the attack before fleeing, police said.

The woman refused medical attention, police said.

On June 20, 2015, the suspect was in his friend's Bushwick apartment as she made him breakfast about 11 a.m. when he asked if he could take her cairn terrier for a walk, according to police and prosecutors.

She called police when he never returned and realized tha he'd also taken two gold chains worth $250 each, police said.

Owens was eventually caught when he jumped a subway turnstile on July 6, 2015, police said. He pleaded guilty to petit larceny in the dog theft in October 2015 and had an order of protection issued against him, prosecutors said.

Along with his superhero tattoo, Owens also has a music note scrawled across one of his arms, police said.
